I'm a science writer based in Bryan, Texas and New York City.
I manage communications for Columbia University's Center for Climate and Life and the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund. And sometimes I join scientists in the field to assist with their broader impacts.
I've collaborated with scientists at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Texas A&M University, Portland State University, and Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences. I also worked with the International Center of Photography on a series of public programs that brought climate scientists into the museum to share their research.
My work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Eos and NASA's Earth Observer, and I've served as social media editor for the University of Maine's Darling Marine Center and Psychology Today. My projects have been covered by Scientific American, Smithsonian Magazine, Climate Central and other media outlets.
Some of this work was funded by grants I wrote to private foundations such as the Awesome Foundation and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. I've also written successful grants to federal agencies, including the National Science Foundation, NASA and NOAA.
Please email me if you'd like to discuss a project or collaboration.
